- What is TimberWolf® Fencing made of?
- Timberwolf Fencing uses recycled processed cellulose (wood fiber) diverted from landfills and converts this into its proprietary raw material. The fiber is then combined with recycled HDPE (i.e., plastic milk jugs) to form a fiber reinforced composite material. The fiber is not a filler material but the “backbone” of the composite matrix. It provides strength, reinforcement, durability and since it is wood the look and feel of real wood. This allows FiberTech to manufacture high performance building products requiring low maintenance that are easily mistaken for real wood.
TimberWolf® Fencing is a fiber reinforced composite fencing material. It is engineered using proprietary raw materials primarily recycled wood fiber (cellulose) and recycled HDPE plastic (i.e., milk jugs). These recycled raw materials are combined to create a fencing product that looks and feels like natural without the maintenance.
- In what colors is TimberWolf® Wood Composite Fencing available?
- TimberWolf® Fencing is available in 5 natural wood-tone stock colors. Birch White, Coastal Cedar, Driftwood Gray, Dark Walnut and Sequoia Red.
- What kind of tools are needed to work with TimberWolf® Fencing?
- TimberWolf® Fencing can be easily cut, drilled, stapled, nailed or screwed using standard woodworking tools and techniques. Coarse tooth carbide saw blades are recommended to minimize clogging.
- What type of fasteners are required for installing TimberWolf® Fencing?
-
- Any typical type of wood fastener will work…staples, nails, screws, etc. Please consult installation instructions for exact fastener specifications.
- TimberWolf® adhesive should be applied to individual pickets and backer rails prior to fastening.
- TimberWolf® color coated brackets or other similar fence brackets need to be used.
- Can TimberWolf® Wood Composite Fencing be painted?
- While TimberWolf® Fencing can be painted with high quality exterior primer and 100% acrylic top coat paint, it is not recommended since painting will require regular maintenance thereby defeating a major benefit, as well as invalidating the warranty. The beauty of TimberWolf® Fencing is that it requires NO painting or staining to retain its natural beauty for the life of the fence.
- How can I clean my TimberWolf® Wood Composite Fence?
- TimberWolf® Fencing can be cleaned of deposits of dirt, mold, mildew and calcium from sprinklers by simply power washing or using a stiff brush and a mild solution of water and detergent such as Tri-Sodium Phosphate (TSP) or other similar commercial cleaning product.
- How does the cost of TimberWolf® Fencing compare to wood and vinyl?
- TimberWolf® Fencing is a terrific value. Initially it is more expensive than wood but because there are no ongoing maintenance costs, after just five years TimberWolf® costs less than a wood fence and continues to lower the investment cost year after year. TimberWolf® is comparable in cost to most vinyl fences, yet provides both low maintenance and the beauty of real wood.
- What Maintenance is Required?
- TimberWolf® requires only occasional cleaning to maintain the aesthetics of the boards. Dirt, mold, mildew and calcium deposits from sprinklers can detract from the beauty of TimberWolf®, but will not damage it (refer to Warranty for specific information). TimberWolf® can be easily cleaned by power washing or by using a mild solution of water and bleach or other mild commercial cleaning product.
