Fiber – The Backbone

Detoxification

We use only use fiber that has been reclaimed from the waste stream of recycled paper product manufacturers. The primary benefit is the removal of all the chemicals (tannins, lignins) that can destablize the fiber. In turn, we can produce products that are highly resistant to rot, decay and discoloration.

The Long and Short of It

As mentioned earlier, the fiber is the backbone of our products. Literally, the processed fiber material used has both long and short membranes working like little rebars to reinforce the material. This gives it the stiffness and flexibility ensuring the workability of the material closely mimics wood, allowing the builder unlimited fastening (ex. using nails, screws or staples) and design options.

Lastly, since we use upwards of 70% fiber in our products, this allows us to make products that not only perform like wood but actually look the part. With TimberWolf^® fencing you no longer have to sacrifice appearance (eg. shiny plastic) when purchasing our composite products as our rough hewn boards has the look and feel of real wood.

Steroids for Fiber?

Our fiber, tough as it may be, still needs a binding agent. This is where our recycled hdpe (think milk jugs) plastic comes into play, as the plastic encapsulates the fiber providing an added layer to hold all of those long and short fibers together. Our recycled plastic also has the added benefit of adding rigidity to the products therefore strengthening the material to even higher levels.

Color – Natural “Wood” Selection

Or should we say the lack of color? Purchasing neutral tone recycled hdpe plastic enables us , with the addition of a small amount of colorant, to produce a wide variety of natural wood tones including Coastal cedar, Dark walnut, Sequoia Red.

Three Cycle – What Does it mean?

Three Cycle is our proprietary manufacturing conversion process that allows us to bring in the best recycled materials (fiber & plastic) forming it into material that is easily stored and converted into finished goods.
